Use the category filters at the top of the page to narrow down tools by type: birth charts, compatibility, predictive, astrocartography, tarot, asteroids, and advanced analysis. You can also use the search bar to find a tool by name or keyword. Each tool card shows a short description, key features, and a direct link to start using it.
If you are new to astrology, start with the Free Birth Chart Calculator to generate your natal chart, then explore the interpretation guide that follows. For relationship questions, the Synastry and Composite calculators are the best place to begin. For timing questions, try the Transit Calculator or Solar Return tool.
Find the Right Tool for Your Question
With so many calculators available, knowing which one to use can be confusing. The best tool depends on what you want to learn. If you are asking 'Who am I?' start with the natal chart. If you are asking 'When will something happen?' use a predictive tool like transits or progressions. If you are asking 'Are we compatible?' use synastry or the composite chart.
Below is a quick reference to match your question to the right tool. Each category page includes more detail on how to interpret results, common mistakes, and next steps. For the most accurate results, always ensure your birth time is as precise as possible. If you do not know your birth time, use the 'Time Unknown' option in the natal chart calculator to see what data is still reliable.
Which one should I prefer?
If you are a beginner, start with the Free Birth Chart Calculator. It is the foundation for all other tools. Once you understand your own chart, move to synastry for relationships, transits for timing, and astrocartography for location decisions. For experienced astrologers, the Advanced Chart Analysis tools offer detailed dignity tables, aspect orbs, and house system comparisons.
For Vedic astrology practitioners, use the D10 Dasamsa chart for career analysis and the Draconic chart for karmic patterns. The Human Design Calculator bridges astrology and the I Ching for a different personality framework. There is no single 'best' tool – the right one is the one that answers your current question.

Birth Chart and Natal Chart Tools
The birth chart, or natal chart, is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment and location of your birth. It is the foundation of all astrological interpretation. Our Free Birth Chart Calculator generates a detailed chart wheel with planets, houses, aspects, and dignities. You can choose from multiple house systems and zodiac types.
Beyond the basic chart, we offer specialized natal tools: the Draconic Chart for karmic themes, the D10 Dasamsa chart for career and public life in Vedic astrology, and the Human Design Chart which combines astrology with the I Ching and Kabbalah. Each provides a different lens on your core personality and life path.
What are the details?
The natal chart calculator uses the Swiss Ephemeris for high-precision planetary positions. You can select Placidus (default), Whole Sign, Koch, Equal, or Regiomontanus house systems. For zodiac, choose Tropical (Western) or Sidereal (Vedic) with Lahiri, Raman, or Fagan-Bradley Ayanamsa. The chart displays planets, houses, aspects with user-adjustable orbs, and a dignity table showing rulership, exaltation, triplicity, term, face, detriment, and fall.
Interpretation text covers each planet in sign and house, aspect patterns, and overall chart synthesis. For beginners, a simplified summary explains key strengths and challenges. For advanced users, the raw data table provides exact degrees, declinations, and speed status (direct, retrograde, stationary, cazimi, combust).
Zodiac Sign Calculators
If you only need to know your Sun, Moon, or Rising sign, our Zodiac Sign Calculators give you instant results. Enter your birth date, time, and location to get your full sign breakdown. The calculators support both Tropical and Sidereal zodiacs, so you can see your Western sign and your Vedic sign side by side.
These tools are ideal for quick reference, social sharing, or when you want to check someone's sign without generating a full chart. They also display the current planetary positions so you can see which signs are active today.

Planet and House Calculators
For detailed analysis of a specific planet or house, use our Planet and House Calculators. These tools show you the exact degree, sign, house position, and dignity of any planet in your chart. You can also see the ruler of each house and any planets that occupy it.
This is especially useful for timing questions: for example, if you want to know when Jupiter will transit your 10th house, or when Mars will aspect your natal Venus. The calculators show current transits and upcoming dates for key planetary events.
How to use the House Calculator
Select a house number (1 through 12) and your birth data. The calculator shows the sign on the cusp, the ruler of that house, any planets inside it, and the house's natural significations. For example, the 7th house rules partnerships, so if you have Venus there, relationships are a major theme. The tool also lists the house's essential dignity and any intercepted signs.
For planetary calculators, select a planet and see its sign, house, aspect list, dignity table, and current transit status. You can compare two dates to see how the planet's position has changed. This is helpful for electional astrology or planning important events.
Love and Compatibility Tools
Relationship astrology goes far beyond Sun sign compatibility. Our Love and Compatibility Tools include Synastry (comparing two charts), Composite (the relationship chart), and Draconic Synastry for karmic bonds. Each tool generates a detailed report of aspects, house overlays, and strengths or challenges.
Synastry shows how two people interact: where their planets aspect each other, which houses are activated, and what the relationship dynamics are. The Composite chart treats the relationship as a separate entity, showing its purpose and evolution. Draconic Synastry reveals past-life connections and soul-level agreements.
Which compatibility tool should I use?
For new relationships, start with Synastry to see immediate chemistry and friction points. For long-term partnerships or marriage, the Composite chart gives deeper insight into the relationship's identity. If you feel an intense, unexplained connection with someone, try Draconic Synastry to explore karmic ties. All tools allow you to adjust orbs and select which aspects to include.
Interpretation text covers major aspects like conjunctions, oppositions, trines, and squares, as well as house overlays (e.g., their Venus in your 7th house). The report highlights the top three strongest aspects and gives practical advice for navigating challenges.

Predictive Astrology Calculators
Predictive astrology helps you understand timing: when events are likely to happen, when to act, and when to wait. Our predictive calculators cover Transits, Progressions, Solar Returns, Lunar Returns, and Electional Astrology. Each uses your birth chart as a baseline and compares it to current or future sky positions.
The Transit Calculator shows which planets are currently aspecting your natal chart. The Solar Return chart is cast for your birthday each year and forecasts the coming 12 months. The Electional Astrology Calculator helps you choose the best date and time for an event like a wedding, business launch, or surgery.

How to use predictive tools effectively
Start with transits: look for slow-moving planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) aspecting your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars). These mark major life chapters. Fast-moving transits (Moon, Mercury) show daily moods and short-term opportunities. Use orbs of 1-3 degrees for outer planets and 5-8 degrees for inner planets.
For annual forecasting, generate your Solar Return chart. Pay attention to the Ascendant, Midheaven, and any planets conjunct the angles. The house placement of the Sun in the Solar Return chart indicates the main focus of the year. Lunar Returns are useful for monthly planning, especially for emotional and domestic matters.
Astrocartography and Relocation Tools
Astrocartography, or astro-map, shows how your birth chart interacts with different locations on Earth. By mapping planetary lines onto a world map, you can see where you will thrive, where you may struggle, and where you will find love, career success, or spiritual growth. Our Interactive AstroMap Explorer lets you pan, zoom, and click on any location to see its specific chart.
The Relocation Calculator generates a new chart for any chosen city, showing how the planetary angles shift. This is essential for anyone considering a move, extended travel, or even a vacation. The tool highlights angular planets (on the Ascendant, Descendant, MC, IC) which have the strongest impact.
What are the details?
The astrocartography map uses your birth data to calculate planetary lines: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and the Ascendant/MC lines. Each line is color-coded by planet. Clicking a line shows the exact degree and orb. You can also overlay a relocation chart for a specific city, which includes houses and aspects for that location.
Interpretation guidance explains what each planetary line means: Venus lines for love and pleasure, Jupiter lines for expansion and luck, Saturn lines for discipline and challenge. The tool also highlights 'paran' points where two planetary lines cross, creating intensified energy. Use the 'Best Places' feature to find locations where your Jupiter or Venus lines intersect with your Sun or MC lines.

Tarot Reading Tools
Tarot is a powerful divination tool that complements astrology. Our Tarot Reading Tools include a single-card draw, a three-card spread (past-present-future), and a Celtic Cross spread. Each reading is generated randomly from a standard 78-card deck (22 Major Arcana, 56 Minor Arcana).
The cards are interpreted with both traditional meanings and astrological correspondences. For example, The Empress is linked to Venus and Taurus, while The Tower is associated with Mars and Uranus. This dual perspective enriches the reading and helps you connect tarot archetypes with your chart.
Asteroids and Special Points
Asteroids like Chiron, Juno, Pallas, Vesta, and Ceres add depth to chart interpretation. Chiron represents the wounded healer, Juno shows marriage and partnership patterns, Pallas indicates wisdom and strategy, Vesta reveals devotion and focus, and Ceres relates to nurturing and loss. Our Asteroid Calculators include Chiron, Juno, Chariklo, and more.
Special points like the Arabic Parts (Part of Fortune, Part of Spirit, Part of Marriage, etc.) are calculated using precise formulas. The Arabic Parts & Lots Calculator generates dozens of these points with interpretations. Each point is a sensitive degree in the chart that acts like an additional planet.
Which asteroids are most important?
Chiron is the most widely used asteroid in modern astrology. It shows where you have a deep wound and where you can heal others. Juno is essential for relationship analysis, especially for marriage and commitment. For career and public image, Pallas and Vesta provide additional nuance. Chariklo, Chiron's wife, is used in karmic and generational analysis.
Arabic Parts are calculated by adding the longitude of two planets and subtracting a third. The Part of Fortune (Ascendant + Moon - Sun) is the most common. It shows where you find joy, abundance, and natural talent. The Part of Spirit (Ascendant + Sun - Moon) reveals your spiritual purpose and higher calling.

Advanced Chart Analysis Tools
For experienced astrologers, our Advanced Chart Analysis Tools provide raw data and detailed calculations. You can view a table of essential and accidental dignities, a full aspect grid with orbs, declinations, parallel aspects, and midpoints. The tools support multiple house systems and zodiac types simultaneously, so you can compare results side by side.
Other advanced features include: fixed star positions, lot calculations, decan and term rulers, planetary speed and phase, and a chart synthesis summary that highlights the most powerful configurations. These tools are designed for professional astrologers, students, and anyone who wants to go beyond basic interpretations.
How to use the dignity table
The dignity table shows each planet's essential dignity (rulership, exaltation, triplicity, term, face) and accidental dignity (angularity, speed, aspect strength). A planet with high essential dignity is 'strong in its own nature' – for example, Mars in Aries (rulership) or Mars in Capricorn (exaltation). Accidental dignity depends on house placement and aspects: a planet in the 1st house or conjunct an angle gains accidental strength.
Use the table to identify which planets are most influential in the chart. A planet with both essential and accidental dignity is a major focal point. A planet in detriment or fall, especially if also retrograde, indicates an area of challenge or growth. The table also includes a 'score' for each planet to help you prioritize interpretation.

How Our Astrology Tools Work
All tools on YesAstrology use the Swiss Ephemeris, the industry standard for high-precision astronomical calculations. Planetary positions are accurate to within arcseconds. The calculations account for precession, nutation, and proper motion. For Sidereal zodiac, you can choose from Lahiri, Raman, Fagan-Bradley, or other Ayanamsa systems.
House systems are calculated using the selected algorithm (Placidus, Whole Sign, Koch, Equal, Regiomontanus). Aspect orbs are user-adjustable: default orbs are 8° for Sun and Moon, 6° for personal planets, and 3° for outer planets. You can also filter aspects by type (major, minor, or both) and set custom orbs for each planet.
Data privacy is important: all calculations are performed server-side, and birth data is not stored unless you create an account. You can use every tool anonymously. For the most accurate results, ensure your birth time is correct to the minute. If the time is unknown, the tool will note which calculations are affected (house cusps, Moon position, Ascendant).
How to get the most accurate chart
Accuracy starts with clean input data. Use your exact birth time from a birth certificate if possible. If you only have an approximate time, select 'Time Unknown' – the tool will still generate a chart but will flag unreliable house placements. For location, use the city and country of birth. The time zone is automatically detected, but you can override it if needed.
For synastry and composite charts, both birth times should be as precise as possible. If one person's time is unknown, the composite chart will still work but house interpretations for that person will be less reliable. For astrocartography, the birth time is critical because the angles shift rapidly with time.
